Google Hangouts have long offered free group video calling, Microsoft is catching up to the competition & making Skype group video calling free. Skype users have been requesting free group video calling for years from 28th April 2014.
Windows desktop, Mac, and Xbox One users will all be able to use the feature at no extra cost. "In the future, we’ll be enabling group video calling for all our users across more platforms. Microsoft previously offered the feature as part of its Skype Premium service customer.
According to the Microsoft statement on Monday that it had “completed the steps necessary” to seal the deal for Nokia’s devices and services business on April 25th.
This deal will wrap up its 5.4 billion euro ($7.5 billion) takeover of Nokia's handset business on Friday, after making a few tweaks to the long-awaited deal.
