Facebook's WhatsApp adding voice calls after Facebook Acquisition

As reported by multiple news platforms, they announced that WhatsApp now has 330+ million daily users and 465+ million monthly users.



At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Jan Koum "WhatsApp CEO" said the voice service will be free and begin rolling out to users within the next couple of months.

Media reports put WhatsApp's revenue at about $20 million in 2013.

Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg defended the price paid for a messaging service with negligible revenue. 

WhatsApp Released New Version 2.11.186 with Privacy Settings and Hindi Support

WhatsApp has released a new update version 2.11.186 with interesting features and brings Privacy Settings. This latest version enables Hindi for the Android smartphone operate on android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher version and users can enable Hindi from keyboard settings or download the Google keyboard from the Google Play Store.



You can access Privacy Settings option under the settings > account menu in WhatsApp, these features allows the user to change the personal information.

Another feature you can see the large thumbnails for video and save or share the Photo or Group icons

Facebook News Feed Product Manager Greg Marra Discusses Its New Look with Jennifer Van Grove of CNET

Facebook announced a revamp of its pages for desktop, which will begin rolling out this week, just days after revealing a new look for its News Feed.

Some of the major changes in the landing page on desktop are:
  • In the right-hand column all posts from pages will now appear
  • The left hand column will information about businesses like website, maps, cell numbers, business hours, videos and photos
  • With information including number of ads running, post reach, page likes and unread notifications and messages.
If we talk about other landing pages or Tab
  • Overview Tab:  This page insight, admins will see some key stats about the pages they are watching. 
  • Posts Tab: This page insight includes a feature to view the past week’s most engaging posts from the pages you’re watching.

Across the social media platform Kenshoo and Oracle Social Cloud to provide actionable insights

Accounting to South by Southwest, Kenshoo, a Facebook Strategic Preferred Marketing Developer and provider of cloud based digital marketing solutions and predictive media optimization technology, announced integration with Oracle Social Cloud as part of Oracle recently announced open application programming interface based on social media solutions.



This integration will allow analyzing the performance of Owned Social Campaign, Earned Social Campaign and Paid Social Campaign and it will helpful to fine-tune their marketing strategies.

Both the company Kenshoo and Oracle said in a release announcing the integration between Kenshoo with Oracle Social Cloud will enable better coordination and conversation between social community managers in charge of organic content and marketing or agencies managers handling paid media.

Kenshoo, the global leader in predictive media optimization technology, today announced from South By Southwest, a Kenshoo integration with Oracle Social Cloud. The news comes as part of Oracle's newly announced open API-based paid social media solution for its customers.

Panasonic today announced the launch of its latest smartphone - P31, in India. The Panasonic P31 is priced at Rs 11,990.

WhatsApp: Facebook to buy WhatsApp for $19 billion deal in cash and stock.


Facebook has announced to plans acquire WhatsApp for the equivalent of $19 billion in cash and stock. According to the source, Facebook has agreed to pay $12 billion in stock and $4 billion in cash for this acquisition. Additional $3 billion in restricted stock units to WhatsApp's founders and employees as part of the deal agreed by Facebook, which bring this deal price to $19 billion
WhatsApp already has over 450+ million active users every month and this is the so far Facebook largest acquisition in early 2013-2014.
